Maybe for people serving as Mods, the admin could comfirm who they actually are. Name, address, phone etc. The TG Mod position yields a great amount of respect, that could be used innaproppriately, as recently demonstrated with parai.
The Mod has access to a certain amount of TG member information. They can or could get more info from members with expectations of confidentiality and honesty, due to their position.
I have seen on another forum conditions of trade include a $10 egold membership.
Would it be possible for for TG to set up a similar process where only paid members can view trades available.
A $10 fee would go to the cost of verifiying new members.
The Verification process could be similar to PP where a letter can be sent to a home address with a code on it, the code then must be returned to TG before membership is granted this process may also include telephone confirmation to a land line.
Just my thoughts.

Most scammers are generally intelligent people & unfortunately you can never get rid of them, they will evolve to bypass all methods and rules to stop them. The only solution to getting rid of scammers from the exchange folder is to close it, And I know this is unrealilistic.
One way to slow down the amount off scammers is to sell an exchange license, I don't think TG should keep the money paid, but more hold onto it as a form of security. A serious exchange service should have no problems paying $500 or $1000 for such a license. I can gaurantee this would cut scams down by as much as 90%.
Another problem is syndicates, they make fake exchanges, leave fake feedback and give a false sense of security, some of these syndicates operate with as many as 1000 members, that is alot of people promoting either a scam hyip or a scam exchange service, when you have hundreds of people saying they got paid well, we turn into sheep, we want to become paid also and we get duped!!
I will repeat my idea. Take a look at MMG. You need to be a paid member of the forum to do an exchange. TG has daily postings on all of the TG members that were scammed out of funds. No such threads exist in MMG. MMG is not perfect but they have certainly figured out a simple way to eliminate 99% of the exchange scammers from their forum.
If none of the ideas is considered by the admins or maybe they don't even have time to read here, then this thread or other posts are just a WASTE of SPACE and TIME.
The scammers will always win. Too bad.

We do read these threads. Please don`t think that members` comments are ignored as we do value feedback. Some of the points which have been made are currently under discussion by admin and mods.
Once again, make members pay a fee if they want to exchange in the TG folder. This simple solution works for MMG. I can't even remember the last time that someone was scammed in MMG. In TG, it happens daily.

True Greg but if someone was scammed at MMG who would be reponsible?
I'm sceptical because MMG does has a habit of deleting posts so can we be 100% sure that nobody is ever scammed?
I think that the TalkGold community needs to share the responsibility - members should be allowed to trade freely in a responsible way but report anything suspicious. Scammers don't mind paying a fee if it's worth their while, I'm just not in favour of approving scammers because they can afford to pay.
