what kind of proxy you mean?? i use proxy to connect to internet in my university.. without proxy.. i can't access internet.. just lan.. in my university, proxy use to prevent people except student and university employee access internet.. and to safe bandwidth to not use for *****graphic.. do you mind if i access talkgold in my university with proxy??

For those who would like to access the "Money Exchange" section, they will have to be required to send a copy of their ID to a mod or perhaps somewhere so that they could be verified so that in case anything happens in between, there's still a way we could track down who the person is and have his ID to prove it.

That would keep quite a few scammers from coming into the exchange folder.

Would that work? What do you guys think?

And what if we had sent this info to the Mod that turned out to be a scammer.
It would have to be selective and not just any Mod.
Also info has been stolen from the TG forum, so maybe it should not be stored here.
The NETIBA program that stormpay pushed was an independent ID verification process. It fell by the wayside when stormpay they had issues. I believe it got abused with some sites using bad NETIBA logos and links.

Ok, so how about this..

All new signups before they are approved and out to post/scam whatever they shoudl have there Ip under there posting handle and it should indicate if they are using a proxy or not.. That will help in the long run

what you should do is simple simply delete all the threads in every forum and start from scratch. Talkgold has a good name if they delete all members, clear database and all threads. they will have very nice forum building very shortly. at this time they can easilly monitor scammers.

2nd option is to have a VIP TG forum charging 10.00 monthly membership. we all know scammers don't like to spend money.

Sms Verification
Phone verification

And any other verification that mods/admins suggest.

Verification would be time consuming and not necesarily accurate, keep the ideas coming .
the only way i could see it working 100 % would be to have a third party where both buyer and seller deposited funds

Yes, It's time consuming. but would have good results.
If you ask for more than one document, it would be so hard for a scammer to find fake documents.

1- Passport Scan in high resolution. (Can be confirmed with Government?)
2- Phone bill , you may confirm the phone number.
3- Mobile phone verification. use missed call or SMS.
you can send a code by sms to the provided number, SMS inbox numbers are very expensive and scammers will not use them.
Ask them that who is their phone provider? Scammers using VOIP phones cannot answer this question.
4- User's bank account name must match Passport's scanned info.
5- Check User's IP address with user's address provided and also bank's location.
6- Don't accept free emails like Yahoo, MSN or Gmail.
7- Also instead of 50 posts and 50 days would be changed to 150 posts and 150 days.
8- Scammers don't remember their personal information. Therefore they can be catched.

Totally agree!! There is no other way.
Please stop these sugestions asking for id/phone verifications and such, these are nonsense.. I don`t think anyone will send their id unless they`re using fake ids/infos. So what then.. a scamer will be more likely to become "verified" than a genuine user!? SURE, it will, because I will probably not send my ID and so many others.

THE ONLY WAY IS HAVING AN ESCROW FROM TG.

A good start will be having an eg acc, operated by tg, where the buying/trades should start.
Sure, a fee should be necasary to be paid for this service, and I think 1-2% will be the correct cut for this type of service.
1% from each side, when the escrow operates two transaction
1% when only one transaction is involved
Maybe not everyone will want to use such service, but I think this will be a powerfull weapon to keep away scamers from tg.
We will have our insurance and the service providers will be paid for by the customers.

I can`t see how it will be posible to offer an escrow service for paypal, moneybookers, western union, money gram.. etc. Services where fraud or high fees may be involved. But we can do it(TalkGold CAN) for egold! The majority of trades involves e-gold so this will be 100% efficient. In fact I don`t know why it wasn`t implemented such serices till now.

We need this asap, it will stop +90% of scams.
