You may well be right. And, what you're thinking DOES make sense, logically. To be honest, I'm not looking into this one too 'seriously'. However, I think I'll stick to my 'guesstimate'. (Which probably isn't too 'safe', as I haven't looked into fund flows at all, and 'everything' keys off of that, with ponzi's...)
A few well placed 'refunds' CAN have an effect, bringing in more funds, but - might just be too late for this one. Depends on the judgement and 'business skills' of those 'behind' the 'program'.
Well, that and ACTUAL information that gets through to at least some of the members. Thank you for working towards that, it DOES make a difference!
For the 'scale' of this one, appears almost all of the cards have been played...

Actually, I got an email from an 'investing group' that I was a member of, in 2003 or so - they're HOPING to come up with 'payouts' shortly.

Research... It's amazing what you find when you actually start looking into how these things work, and it's easy to pick up on the 'mistakes' made by 'programs' and 'admins'.
"Business skills" and "financial savvy" on display for everyone to see. Well, at least those who don't automatically believe the 'story', and start looking into the 'real world'.
After all, REAL profits HAVE to be made in the REAL WORLD! Not just because a website 'says' it's happening.
But please, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain...

Not my friends, I have only posted on there a couple of times USING my traderj name.. and only for the purposes of clearing the air when some of the morons there post pretending to be me..nothing else..

The biggies to me...

1. Must be able to show proof of license. BOTH for a registered company and a financial services license if handling third party money.

2. Name and proof of ID of the principals.

3. Corporate references, Banks, preferably.

4. If an investment firm, audited or broker signed records showing the results. If using an "in house" investment method or instrument (say like Off shore casinos) must be able to show a gov't approved and audited annual report or tax return.

5. Must accept bank wires to a company named bank account with a reputable first world bank.

All of the above info must be made available BEFORE one penny is spent and you should expect to sign an NDA, plus make sure you have a lawyer look over the doc first.

If ANY of the above five items are missing, the investment is NOT real and NOT legal.. the only possible exception COULD be if they are a new company and do NOT have a track record yet if they are trading in which case you should made aware of that with a PPM or letter of intent, or prospectus.
