Well, sorta. He wasn't willing to 'back up' his side with anything though.
Typical. Big talk, nothing behind it. Depending on someone else for their 'finnancial prosperity', but - not willing to risk anything themselves.
Just the usual 'xxx' is going to 'save us all', and 'surprise' - it DOESN'T happen.
I can only hope that people figure out that THEY, *NOT* others, are the best ones to keep THEIR interest in mind...
Just my opinion,
Jeff

THat one's easy. When people realize that the word 'investment' refers to something that should be licensed and registered as such, and it's not, well, it's an ATTEMPT to 'put off' the 'authorities'.
Problem is, that's too late
And, 'usually', when it gets to the point that people are 'worried' - it's already being 'looked at' by an 'entity' that 'admins/members' do NOT want 'involved'...
One might research the 'Howey test' for a 'working' definition of 'investment'.
LIkely too see many 'quietly disappear'...
'the usual'...

It is too little, and too late for them to quietly disappear but they are trying.
It would be nice to see them get some jail time.

Well, I wonder how many consider 'possibilities' like this...
STP is licensed/regulated via Fintrac, isn't it?
How about AP?
All that would be needed - is to access the information from those PP's, and cross-reference it (I believe there's likely a copy with the p2p data from that server...)
Since *most* of these *koff* 'programs' choose to use e-currencies, well, kind of a nice easy way to look, rather than having to look at accounts at several hundred different banks...
A little 'data mining' on some nicely cross-referenced data and....
There's some interesting possiblities there, it would seem...
Add information from exchangers, and...
I haven't been tracking what the OPP court order included seizure/freezing of, and if I'm even on the right track there, don't follow these beasts as close as I used to...
Just musing,
Jeff

There would have had to have been a court hearing in order to seize his house and to freeze his bank accounts...
Anyone seen anything official on this yet or has this even happened??...
Also worth considering now that the OPP know that these pay processors who are licensed win Fintrac(STP & AP) are being used for scams what if anything are they going to do about it??....
One can only hope that the P2P case will open up a can of worms which would spell the end of STP and AP....
IMO Stella and Marc Hiemstra are as guilty of fraud if not more so than Nick....

Not sure if this would play into it, but it looks like the 'companies' were licensed in 'nick's' name - in which case, they might be considered 'personal assets', and - I'm thinking - therefore the 'personal' accounts MAY have been 'frozen/seized' along with the 'business' accounts - correct me if I'm wrong.
Thing is, if fraud is shown to be happening (I ain't got no doubts on that one) - if there WAS any separation of personal/business, 'fraud' voids many of the 'business/personal separation'...
Don't KNOW, but - just thinking re: some research I did some time back on setting up our company - 'things to be extremely careful of'... (In our case, we wanted to be personally protected from losses/lawsuits against the company, so we're careful to keep things as separate as possible...After all, that's one of the reasons TO setup a company properly.)
Just musing,
Jeff
