Third parties are usually the only way that one can easily get these facilities, so you have to trust them. The way to do that is find people who have done it and can make a recommendation.
But some of these agencies are charlatans and you have to be on your guard.
If you are impressed with Slogold's contributions here then find someone who has used him.
But what is this? Slogold says that Vanuatu registrations are no longer available - said it twice now.
Look at his website (I did today Sunday 30th March) guess who is still selling Vanuatu registrations ?
Eh zoot alors! you can even download his Vanuatu registration checklist too. They must be a good third party to do such business with.

HUTT RIVER
Yes that is right its not a recognised country, so is a joke.
Cveks, you are right about the average policeman being ignorant, well, in the Balkans and Russia in my experience anyway. But you forget that you need insurance, and all the police that have stopped me east and south east of the EU always want to see the insurance as well as the registration book. Also when you cross borders they want to see it. And when you get to the EU border you are not allowed to cross unless you have a green card or a pink card. In the past I have been told to park-up just before the border and then walk across it to the motorist's office to get the insurance certificate.

Thanks for the info mish - What I need to find out out - is there much have been a market for these registrations... just a shame as you said so many companies try and make money from scamming a legitimate car registration process.....would you mind emailing me off site : dtmpower 'at' gmail . com to discuss my options.
I have sent my mail correctly to your correct email address at least four times. So I don't know what's wrong. Could you please send me a mail to gjutmail @ gmail.com and I will send you my mail in reply.
It will be interesting to see how this unfolds further down the line. I can imagine there will be a replacement crop up.
I have always fancied Andorra personally, but think thats because of its location to the UK and that they dont typically get stopped coming in + out like vehicles of british plates frequently do...
Bring on tax-free electronics lol
Unfortunately they do have somewhat tight regulations.

Bondy, its nice to see that you are still around !
I understand about the Andorra question. But the thing about a non European plate is that it never arouses suspicions at borders, especially if you do as I have done, and have the VU plate made to look like a generic European style.
Our friend at Slogold - you know, the one who said Vanuatu was all over but took 5 months to remove a promotion for it from his website - is promoting Cook Is, but if you look on his website he does not show a car with a C Is plate on. So what does he show ?
Why, blow me its a yellow Hummer with a VANUATU plate on it. That suggests to me that its not all plain sailing in the number plate pond for our friends offering such registrations. Perhaps those days are now numbered.
My VU plated LandCruiser is currently 'on tour' with an expedition in Ethiopia. (Well, most vehicles there don't even have a number, so no one is bothered about checking it!).
Really funny thread. OMG have I seen this SO many, many times.
In Europe, people, especially in Denmark, try all sorts of options to avoid tax's and VAT on cars. The crazy thing is, that when you buy a car, you have to take this into consideration:
Car price + 180% car price TAX (YES!!) + 25% VAT = Car price.
So many danes started speculating in how they could buy luxury cars, for cheapers prices. Danes are European champions at this.
Many purchased cheap homes in Sweden, which is only 25 kilometers from the Copenhagen border. After they purchased/invested in a home 25 kilometers over the border, they could purchase cars at a fraction of the price, since cars are much cheaper in Sweden.
So this was simply a matter of where you had your adress and residence.
Now, what about people that liked to be in their country but still wanted cheap luxury cars? First of all, most of them got scammed by "super slick" online solutions, that offered them a Monaco registration, insurance package and all that kind of BS.
Here is the deal if you are European: Have a company in a country, where you know the cars are cheap. Purchase the car for company purposes. You can legitimize ANYTHING. I have once helped a client purchasing a Ferarri and deduction it in his accounting as a representation expense. With the car purchased for your company (but still living in your "regular country") you can then bring the car to your own country for 3-4 months. This is usually the limit, before you might end up in trouble with the police or tax-departments in the country. In Denmark it is 3 months and if you exceed it, you will be fined and forced to pay 180% + 25% of the car.
What if you get pulled over?
The car is legally in your own country and via regular documents, you can clarify and prove that you run a company in another country and have a client base where you are right now. So you are using the car for business purposes.
But this is VERY simplistic explained, because there are many more details and things that need to be taken care of.
The main point is, DON'T get to exotic with your registration solutions because the only thing more rotton than these online-car-registration companies are the car-sales-men!
SO WATCH OUT!!
The same thing goes with boats and yachts that you purchase, register and use in other countries.
But let's see where this ends up - I'm curious and have seen MANY people burn their fingers tremendously on these things!
