If you didn't already know that..... But its not just mt4... I would be more sus of a platform created by the broker than a platform a broker rented. IF they created the platform, they could have done anything they wanted to it. Whereas mt4 has its limitations on how you can get raped by your broker...
There is a difference... If you are telling people to close their mt4 brokerage accounts you are psycho. Thats like 80% of the retail market...
Theres alot of profitable traders using mt4, its just the ones who don't know what they are doing which the tick data and delay effects...

Of course, not only MT4 brokers ( in fact this is not the correct word because the are not middle-man but dealers aka market makers, you are playing AGAINST your broker, what you win is what they lose and the other way around) play the dirty tricks :
Freezing platforms
Running stops, spikes
delayed executions to their advantge
A better word for those "brokers" are BUCKET SHOPS , in the real INTERBANK MARKET are no micro-lots traded so they can not offset your trades in the interbank market like most claim.
A better choice is an ECN broker and even on those platforms banks have no obligation to fill your order.
The best choice are the CME currency futures, that is the only 100 % honest dealing environnement..
Profitable traders are sabotaged on ANY BUCKET SHOP PLATFORM

You are in fact trading a VIRTUAL market , not the FOREX market...

It must have been luck that got me in 4 minutes after u posted. As I am not here very often.
Having traded on metatrader for over 3 yrs now. With numerous brokers, I can tell you that you're incorrect.
Even ECNS will run your stops, and spike your platform etc etc. Delay you, and what not.
If you swing trade with mt4, there has to be some pretty damn blatant stop hunting etc for it to stop you out etc. Only broker I have seen do this is IBFX...
MT4 is limited because it doesnt have EVERY feature to use and abuse its clients. There are other platforms, which update regularly to dominate the profitable traders, these brokers are generally only used by the people from their population. I.E if they are from singapore, 90% of its clients are from singapore.. WINK WINK. So they tend to get a lot dirtier than some of the brokers, such as northfinance, fxopen, fxlq before it got bashed, alpari... Theres a whole bunch of good standard mt4 brokers.. You might get stopped out once in a blue blue blue moon... But you don't trade on mt4, without the knowledge that a dealing desk exists.... IF you do, you are entering at your own risk, and stupid if you ask me.... The platform itself was built for dealing desks... Coming up with this info like what 8 yrs i think it is now? (since the first metaquotes platform??) is useless, because with people who are using the platform profitably, they already know it. and knew it before they got into it.
Excuse my bad english, painkillers are kicking in.
If you can find me a retail broker, that allows accounts sub 50k, that is trading the FOREX market, please inform.. Because if there is one, they are totally full of ****.
Goes to show, you should never invest in something you know nothing about.

Like I say, ECN's are a better option , delays happen also but I have never been spiked , stop hunted like on MT4 broker platforms
Look, I have traded with more than 14 MT4 brokers and 4 ECN's and now I am trading currency futures without all the **** from those bucketshops
There are futures brokers where you can start with $1000 opening balance and $500 margin for 1 currency contract , no need to risk money in a un-regulated scam business..

Well, that buckets are not friends of the trader... everyone who spent any length of time in the industry knows very well... The difference between him who survives and him who does not is how clever the trader is to evade the traps laid by the buckets... I would LOVE to see what happens to the poor bucket who trades against me...
The thing is everyone can cry "foul" or "not fair" and so on... but then wake up!! life is NEVER fair... nor is currency trading...
