Nope, I'm from Scotland and the transfer was from my Bank of Scotland account to theirs.
That's a bummer. I have done smaller amounts (less than £300) with a debit card and I have known them fund e-gold within 45 minutes. The last time I used them it was for more and I did it by bank transfer. I paid money in at my local HSBC branch to their HSBC account and it took 3 days to get my e-gold.
I got the impression from an email they sent (after I enquired) that they could only fund your e-gold account when they had e-gold available. They offered me E-Bullion or Pecunix as an alternative if I couldn't wait.
I've never had a problem with LGE either. I have always received a fast and efficient service.
Wonder if it's because we are in the UK?
I guess, that's why its named London Gold Exchange
I'm using LGE for over a year now and from my experience I can tell they are good.. really good and absolutely trustable Don't know about others, but I'm completely satisfied with their service. Prosperity in your business LGE !!
Finally got my E-gold I emailed a general enquiry and got a quick response, I then noticed that all the emails that never got a response were to the 'salesuk' address. I informed them of this and they sorted it out pretty quickly.
Ok, maybe useless isn't the right word as they do as it seems manage to carry out exchanges without problem for most people,
But urgently needing some e-gold and expecting it the same day as specified on their website and then finding out not by email but by logging into their site that i need phone verification for the second time was very annoying.
Placed an order on the 8th of July, did the bank transfer and sent the "bank transfer has been completed" email on the same day. Since then nothing has happened, I've emailed 3 times but they never respond. Definately the worst service I've ever received. Have they ever been this slow for anyone else here?
bah i put in a request last friday for a credit card transfer.. TODAY a week after it came back with a error... putting another one in .. bah... the % for credit card is just a little high
LGE have a verification system in place if you wish to obtain 'Gold Member' status and they have a statement with regards to why they require this:
"We are sorry that we have to implement so much security to allow the purchase of Digital Gold Currency, but it is essential due to massive Internet fraud and the targeting of this industry by thieves and organised crime gangs. We have to deal with auction fraud, identity theft and phishing all the time and because DGC is non refundable, it is near impossible to retrieve stolen funds after a crime has taken place. "
