I have started to trade with both Shark & Griffin and have found results as being mixed this year. Have others experienced similar? Also, I rate these as the best EAs based on the ones I have seen (i don't like Martingales).

Are there any out there that someone else would recommend that beat Shark & Griffin in their opinion?

I don't like Griffin, It's not to aggresive.
Btw could u count how many pips is the result for Shark?
and how many pips is the result from Griffin? Since January

Hi. I will get back with the number of pips that Griffin and Shark have delivered
I only went live since the 1st April but this is what i have found out so far. Apologies if I am stating the obvious to some readers:

1. do NOT rely on backtesting. The results from backtesting since 1st April versus my live account do not correlate at all. Yes only a short period to judge it by but the % W/L gap is so material that I question backtesting all together

2. Only rely on Forward testing results

3. The broker used does make a difference because of slippage etc. I currently use a broker that I shall not name because its unfair to "criticise" them when I don't understand the root cause of the issue. But the issue is that my results since 1st April do NOT match to what is on Shark or Griffin Forward Testing. Again, a material % difference and i am making a loss in this period whereas forward testing isn't

Actions:
1. I am switching to FXDD and this has got to ensure that my results match forward testing. Does it not? At least I hope this is the case although even here, I only put a 25% chance it will. Forward testing accounts are demo accounts and I am not sure whether they EXACTLY equal a similar live account because of slippage etc...and lots of things i don't understand

All I know is that live results are not on track and it could be due to the broker I am using. It may not be. But I am going to try FXDD and see how I get on

I'm running it forward testing on fxopen.. Live account. In profit...

I believe there are many on fXDD live account in profit..

IBFX has failed it, because of slippage and spread increase. NF spread increase caused big problems..

The ea should be looked at as a long term strategy.. Not a "omg i can get rich in a day strategy".. The backtests, if you go through them thoroughly, do semi replicate real trade.

It has periods of loss and periods of good gain, its how you handle them thats the difference.

Hi guys,

I've been live trading the shark EA for a month now and my account is down 5.5%. I demo traded it for a month previously to this and ended up making around 7%. My broker is Interbank but it sounds like FXDD is the way to go from what I'm hearing around the forums. I think this EA will go well over the long term as I won something like 26 trades in a row when I was demo trading it, so I would expect to have long winning streaks every few months. It does seem though that a few losing trades in one week can cut out all profits for the week.

I'm interested to hear if anyone has found a difference when turning "Fridaymode" on? and how far do you take it with news events? is it worth turning it off for all major news events?

Any system can work, you just need to have sound money management and make your winners bigger than your losers.

26 winning trades in a row is quite good, but if a few losing trades are cutting out your profit, than something is definately wrong.
