Re: How are you Making money online and Is it Enough?
I am looking to generate an alternative revenue stream to my day job. However, I do not have a website, leave alone traffic.. do not have web design skills. Do not have a colo box, but just a PC at home with a static IP. Do not have a lot of money to "invest".
I understand for any type of marketing you need to have your own platform, like a website or software... I don't have either.
What are some good suggestions to start something?

Thanks a lot fxtrendline.
Research a niche that interests you and that you think there is money to be made in and browse clickbank.com for a suitable product. These are all digital products, which are ideal for online marketing. Then work your butt off to drive traffic to your affiliate site. Personally, I'd avoid trying to drive traffic directly to a Clickbank sales page. A good option would be to start a blog which includes useful reviews to various products and links to the sales pages. In other words, add value where possible.

John, thank you very much for responding in detail. I've always wanted to do affiliate marketing. And I notice a lot of people here have blogs even though they can't type straight on the forum posts, and they say they make money.. so I think I can definitely do it. Except, I think it must take some time, no?
I'd get a wordpress blog, and start writing about random things, my thoughts and insert a few reviews of "products" (which, say I picked from clickbank) somewhere in there. It just might take me about 2-3 months before I make any kind of coin in there, right?
Many people just say "affiliate marketing" is the way to go. What I'd like to do is see what their blogs look like, how their affiliate marketing is working out, etc. I just can't seem to come across any such examples.

I started my own content site with adsense...have made a little money with that. Also started a cash gifting program that seems to be doing the trick a little faster but good to have both going at the same time! Cash gifting is a little money now and my fitness site will be the money-maker in the long run!

Tired of all the Make-Money-Online scams? Well, you will never believe it actually works!!! As long as you are willing to put in a little effort in the beginning and your income stream will be coming in auto-pilot. Trust me. I am a uni student studying in Australia and have nothing to spend my summer break on, and so i decided to give this so-called scam a try, in hope that they really can give me some extra money besides the experience. At first i was thinking of what is inside all these scams and finally decided to throw in RM88 to access to one of cheapest Money-Making site. And all i got was an e-book full of instructions to be followed. And since the money has been thrown in, why not just give it a try and see how it turns out. I tell you now what you will finally realize. Yes, there are a lot of procedures to go through and they might look really boring. But once you have gotten through all the processes, you will see money coming in without having you sitting by the computer 24/7. Just put a little bit of hard work in the beginning and things will turn out REALLY REALLY GOOD. You can try yourself earning as much as RM500 a day(depending on how much effort you put in) at

Those who know me know that I pretty much dabble in everything. From affiliate marketing, creating my own e-products to sell, running forums, blogs, and entertainment sites, domain investing and parking, etc.
I have enjoyed a nice lifestyle because of the Internet.
I dabble in web design, Radio and Television Voice Over Tallent, Affiliate Marketing (including my own program that I own), and a one or two MLM's which I no longer belong to. I am also 50% owner of an Autosurf Investment Program.
Yes it is enough income, and my family and I have been blessed with our second home, and we are debt free.
Re: How are you Making money online and Is it Enough?
Interesting,
Always nice to read through a thread with helpful tips on what is working and what is not with online businesses. Over the years I have transformed my businesses to the internet, as well as added more which is so much easier than operating traditional businesses.
I target only recession proof businesses now, and most of my commission checks on affiliate programs has dropped dramtically due to economy. One thing I learned long ago in any business is to diversify. I learned that in last recession, and it has gotten me through all the economic hiccups ever since.
This is obviously the worst economic downturn I have seen in my business life, and it is about to get far worse, if not a depression. Given the gov. only just announced we are in a recession, I suspect they won't announce we are in a depression until Citi collapses, and the gov. already bailed it out, then we are in trouble.
It has never been more important in any business to control overhead and expenses, and affiliate marketing is what works best in my experience, as long as you choose affiliates wisely. I track them all, and anything you can eliminate from your budget is a good way to evaluate how others will respond to specific affiliate programs. With PayPerClick way off due to recession, I started to remove these from me sites and am seeing much higher affiliate incomes, so don't waste your money on Adwords, most seasoned internet searchers will only click on natural search results, usually top ten at most, and rarely paid for ads which are always the less than credible variety.
Simply put, times are a changin, and in the world of the internet, you have to change with it, what worked yesterday does not mean it will work today, and certainly, not tomorrow, it is a fast moving target. Look back over the last few years of internet marketing and what you will find is a ton of ebooks from the so called guru's, but do any of them really make you more money, no, they make the guru's more money. lol
