Default Firefox 3 Vulnerability...

Quote:
Five hours after Mozilla officially released Firefox 3.0, researchers found a vulnerability in the new browser.

Tipping Point has verified the bug and reported it to Mozilla, Tipping Point said on Wednesday.

Since Mozilla is still working on a fix, the researchers won't share details about the problem. Tipping Point ranked the severity of the vulnerability as high, but said that users would have to click on a link in an e-mail or visit a malicious Web page before being affected. The issue affects users of Firefox 3.0 as well as Firefox 2.0 . [more]

Hmmm, I don't suppose 'Researchers find vulnerability in 2 year old Firefox2' and then tag Firefox 3 on the end generates so many clicks........

FF3 has all kinds of problems and incompatibilities with web sites, web servers, etc. It's best to stay on FF2 for now.

I haven't come across any problems myself using FF3 since beta 5, but googling it suggests most issues are to do with websites coughing on the user agent string not being recognised. As time moves on sites will catch on and it won't occur. Certainly none of the sites I use have problems with FF3. I've kind of become dependant on some of its features and wouldn't like to give it up.

I never need to bookmark anything, the automatic cache search finds anything just by typing a word or a few letters into the URL box.

The joke floating around is that it's called FF3 because you have to hit reload at least three times to get the site up.
