Being in EU, i suspect the VAT for things purchased in the EU is also deductible for Maltese companies?

Thanks. I'm considering Malta since I'm an EU citizen.

I'm seriously considering Malta since it's an EU member and I could use the financial history to my advantage (e.g. financing) in any EU country.

Are there any unpleasant surprises with Malta? Any quick tips?
