Sounds like you are taking a very sensible approach. You definately have to gauge the market conditions at the time to see if they suit you as an individual.

Well, still doing OK, a good week for me.
Nice thing about MT4 is that you can have it FTP to a web page, which I find useful to monitor my trades from work (Can't load MT4 software there...)

About 8% this week on my FXDD account, now live on MT4.
(Some lucky guesses..)
Still wishing my demo account at Oanda was real. Started with $100k in 2003, just turned it over $872k.
SHOULD have bailed of of my eur/huf trades a while back, using up a LOT of capital, for a very low % return...(About $6k tied up, only making around $2.50/day.. Live, learn, and make mistakes, I seem to be best at the last part!

If anything, this thread shows that Forex isn't as easy as they make it seem, and does take time, patience, and money!

Time, patience, money, and, in my case - a heavy dose of stupidity, lol...
I've been nailed several times, looking for the 'killer trade'...
Better, at least for me, to be happy taking little pieces. Over time, those little pieces can grow.

Now I'm considering dabbling a little in penny stocks. Have a trading account opened, only $40.00 there now. Not sure if I really want to try it, but - gotta do SOMETHING!
I figure that my job will likely be moved/eliminated in the next year or so.
HOPE I'm ready, when the time comes.

no, No, NO!!! don't go there! The pink sheets are highly dangerous territory, and you can lose your shirt QUICKLY!

If you look under General Investing, you'll find a thread that Brian and I posted to, I think MPhillips started it, on the pink sheets.

When it comes to something to expand to, they aren't what you want.

Seriously...don't go there!

yes, I've got the live account posting to a page every 5 minutes, when MT4 is active on my laptop. Don't care to have the location spread TOO wide though, as some would likely 'play games' with the information, some just apparently for a lack of better things to do (Like how to make money themselves, rather than relying on some unknown 'program'.
