I'd be interested in learning more about what indiactor your using but it's understandable if you want to keep it to yourself.

I have been using FXDD as well, and they have been working very well. Except a week or so my take profit order did not close when the market went by. It happened at least twice that I know of, and it wasn't on a fast moving market. I couldn't even close the trades manually. It would pause for about 5 minutes, and then give me a requote. It was really strange, but after about a half an hour of this, I was finally able to close the trades out. I ended up loosing about 10 pips from where the tp was. It has been working just fine ever sense though, or at least as far as I know, my trades are all done by my expert and I only cought those because I happened to be looking at my computer and saw the price past my tp line, and the tp price was colored yellow.

By the way, this is on a mt4 account, and I don't think it is still in the testing phase. So that is probably where the problems came from.

$527 so far this month, closed out 2 of the trades, 1 left open at a $60 or so loss. Headed up to the houseboat today, to get some more stuff off it (It's going up for sale - plans have changed).
Yes, VERY lucky. The last time I had returns like this, I took an $800 account to $3,000 in 3 months, and lost it all in 15 minutes. HOWEVER, that $3k had a LOT of open trades in it. HOPEFULLY I've learned something in the last couple of years.

That being said, I really haven't worked too much on automating what I do. THINK I can get close, will have to see.
If anyone's wondering if these are real #'s, yes they are, and yes, I CAN prove it. I have the metatrader software publishing the results to a web page every 5 minutes (WHEN the ftp section is working...), and, if anyone's really interested, I have a read only password to the account. No need to believe me, can get the information directly from the broker. (And, if anybody cares to, any information on the brokers I use (fxdd and interbankfx) would be appreciated. (Made about $10.00 so far on a $350 account at interbankfx this month.)

You might find it interesting. I HOPE I haven't spent the last 3 years learning a little about fx trading for nothing.
But, I should also mention that there WILL be losses...
I've also only done maybe an hour's worth of research on the markets the last couple of weeks. SEEMS to work. However, long-term results? Will just have to watch and see...
I HAVE found that running more than 2 instanced of metatrader on my PC APPEARS to cause some problems. First thing lost appears to be FTP capabilities.
(Just looked, probably some good possibilities in gold before too long (PURE SPECULATION!)
Just trying to do a couple of things by posting this kind of stuff.
-show that it CAN be done, legally and ethically, by yourself. True, my profits come from the losses of others, but, at least everybody knows the game.
-I've always 'suggested' that various 'programs' show their ACTUAL results, from what they CLAIM to be doing, so that it can be verified from other sources. I AM doing it, and, please, don't believe me, check it out.
(Again, these results are NOT typical to what I usually see!)
Anyway, for those who choose to keep sending my email ads for HYIP programs? Nothing personal, but NOT INTERESTED.
IF you can show me a REAL program (My 'DD' is a little different than most people's....), let me know. If it works, I'll become one of the biggest supporters.

HTR - It's an indicator I purchased - Saw a closed out auction on Ebay, and pursued it anyway. Looks like a good 'investment' for the $35.00 I paid for it.
I'm working on trying to build an expert advisor from it, and, to be honest, haven't done too much work on it this week, just been using it as an indicator for manual trades. Many ideas, just need to get off my elbow and get to work on it. (Probably at least a little today and tomorrow...) I've got permission to use it for my own private use only. IF I come up with something that works, I might pursue seeing if I can get permission to do something else with it. There are a few other indicators/systems for sale where I got the one I'm using, maybe something for me to look into later.

No, I haven't looked into indicators too much myself, as I usually trade on an almost bare chart, just by price. And, occasionally note obvious support/resistance levels, which USUALLY map pretty close to 'standard' pivot points.

What I've seen from the indicator, I find no less than amazing. I haven't NOTICED a loss with it (But that would depend on the broker's spread, in some cases, at least). NOT to say that it won't HAVE losses (from what I've seen ANY and EVERY 'system' has losses. (So, I've been trading no-loss from my thoughts, 'backed up', so to speak, by the indicator. SEEMS to be working, at least short term. Long term, don't know, but WILL find out.

LOOKS VERY promising, and the 'seller' has offered me the $35.00 back, if I can convert it to an expert advisor (his programmer is back logged).

And, my programming skills are, in one word, horrid. But, over time, I think I can at least get close. I've had a few rough efforts, that kind of worked, but looking to put together just one piece that MIGHT be profitable. Time will tell.

But, at least so far, I've been very lucky the last month or so.
MOST LIKELY, just luck, but - worth pursuing to find out.

If I can build something that makes consistent profit, just left on it's own, well, that's the goal.

Maybe. Don't know - yet...

It will be 'tested' first at IBFX - cheaper, as I can trade in pennies, rather than dollars, there. I'll likely play on a demo account for a while, then turn it loose live, and see if it works, without risking too much. MANY variables to consider.

Anyway, I'm rambling again, but I DO believe that I'm seeing some REAL promise with it. The 'excitement' of having something like this kind of 'fall into my lap' - well, it WOULD be great. Now - to see what I can do with it...

If anybody cares to, I'd be happy to run the indicator on any chart/timeframe, and post it to my site, if you're curious. APPEARS (at least so far) to work on almost anything in MT4. Amazes the he** out of me, but, after some discussions with the 'seller', it APPEARS to be real, and work.

Comments/opinions/suggestions welcomed, as I really CAN be an idiot at times, and there's a lot that I miss...

Davidwillis - I've seen the same thing a couple of times, delays. Not sure what the issue is, haven't looked into it too far. (Haven't seen that in about 4 weeks, but - usually best to keep that kind of scenario in mind, it CAN happen...
(One of the reasons I'm trading the minimum allowed amount, at least for now) And, I had my live account changed over to MT4 about a month ago, yes, they're live on MT4.

And, heck, if this thing works, I KNOW where it's headed next - automating at Oanda. I (well, personally) have never seen slippage, and the longest delay I've had in executing a trade there has been about 15 seconds, and that was from work, where internet connectivity can be questionable.
But then, I'm ahead of myself again. Oh, the possibilities...

I've also got the indicator set up to send signals to a mailing list (Direct to my, and any other email or cellphone...), just another idea I'm playing with (Nice to have your own site to play with for stuff like this).
And, thanks to other contacts, I'm aware of a place that can host MT4, and run a working expert advisor, for what might be almost a 'hands off' money making deal, that almost anyone could use. WITHOUT being dependent on ANYONE or ANYTHING else.

THAT is exactly what I've been looking for, for a LONG time.

Call it my own 'personal definition' of the 'ultimate' HYIP.

ALL legal, ALL done by the person involved, involving almost NO middlemen (Unless you run the MT4/indicator/expert advisor yourself, in which case there IS no middleman, other than your ISP), and the broker on the other end.

Much to play with, and consider... But - the possibilities.
Now, to 'prove the theory' - HAS to work, and for ANYONE...
(Even (Maybe especially?) for a fool like me...)

IF it actually works...
Problem is me and my lazy elbow - I spend time posting here, rather than doing what I COULD be doing - getting it to work for testing...

Think you could share a screenshot of the indicator with us Jeff? I was a member of a few MT4 programming groups and have seen nearly every publicly available indicator out there and have evaluated how they all work. I found quite a few that look amazing but when you actually look at their code you find that they are basing their results on future outcomes (ie they change what they display as time goes on). Curve fitting like this is quite common.

The only indicator I've found to be very accurate and extremely helpful is one called "Zerolag MACD." It's a version of the MACD that uses exponential growth to draw the MACD giving preference to the newest values. Using it to signal market direction on the 4h EURUSD chart has proven to be VERY interesting. Sometimes it gets a little off when the market is choppy but that doesn't usually last very long on the 4h chart.
