Good question,
It is required if you are making a business out of exchanging currencies, but not if you are offering it from your personal holdings, so if you read the registration with Treasury Dept, it will spell it out pretty clearly what defines a dealer, so don't worry about it, most on eBay are not dealers or you would see higher prices. No problem, I actaully got most of mine from Jordan, and there are no identified counterfeits to date, especially in the lower denominations, so I doubt anyone would bother counterfeiting these.
As to deleting zeros, no, these were naysayer rumors for years, and not true. My opinion is that the new notes will simply be smaller denominations, and given they pulled the coins from street several months ago, this seems to indicate that smaller coins are pending, which would only logically include smaller denomination notes as well, so time will tell, but no zero lop.

Re: Iraqi Dinar investments
Interesting times,
What better time for the dinar to be restored to former value than when the U.S. dollar collapses. Talk about financial distress, banking system as we know it about to implode, a domino effect starting at the top with the largest banks falling first, simply amazing to see all this happen even sooner than I had predicted.
I am glad I dumped dollars for Iraqi dinar when I did, as I didn't have any faith in the dollar for a long time, and now look at what we see, amazing drop in value of dollar over past year to lowest levels in my life, and the worst is not over as the housing collapse will accelerate following the banking collapse.
The house of cards economy with worthless U.S. paper is finally coming front and center for all to see what our politicians have allowed to happen over the past several decades, ever since we went off gold exchange. As a debtor nation, there is nothing backing the dollar but faith, and who has any faith in governement left after this past week?
Good luck to all,

Re: Iraqi Dinar investments
I agree with Saxifrage. I think that after Iraq either enters civil war, or it gets settled that their money wont be worth as much as it is right now. They'll probably print more money and it'll be worth less.

Interesting,
Where have you been? Sounds like you are describing U.S. dollar more than Iraqi dinar. lol

Re: Iraqi Dinar investments
I have just found out that a major Dinar dealer is not buying back the currency from their customers. This along with the already mentioned zero lop talk, could confidence be going down that this investment will pay off any further?
I still plan to hold Dinar to the end but would like to hear from others.

Re: Iraqi Dinar investments
Interesting,
I would suspect it has more to do with the recession than it does with the Iraqi dinar. In addition, the dinar has been rising in value consistently even when dollar was rising due to recent world bank meetings designed to support the dollar which was in a death spiral up until then. The recession is impacting all businesses, not just an exchange companies, so given the strength of dinar over past several years, I wouldn't worry about it.
Success to all,

Re: Iraqi Dinar investments
I have a few thousand Iraqi Dinars in my safe. They were given to me from a solider in the United States Army.
They even have the picture of Saddam Hussein.
Iraq is a very unstable country - it might stabilize for a brief period, but it will come down again. The 'Police Force' and 'Government' there are not trained well enough to handle the responsibilities of running a government.
I vote against investing in this currency.
