Well, what do you think about now?
But if that was real, i think it's still smaller than other e-industry, like social media, internet marketing, etc. Even if this industry has a 'dark side', i believe it still has a big potency to grow much more than only $100M.

I don't see any reason why it couldn't, I assume Alertpay.com is bigger now than E-gold in it's peak in terms of $$ circulation.
HYIP is a Ponzi driven system and it's very small in comparison to other Ponzi driven investment vehicles out there.
There are currently alot of hedge funds and other financial institutions that infact work as a Ponzi. So the whole "Ponzi" industry is much, much more bigger than the online HYIP fragment.
Every once in a while I see some new SEC founding regarding new multi-million (above 100M-300M, but usually under 100) and sometimes even a multi-billion programs that are Ponzi driven.
Also, there are financial bobbles like this one : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...-1975-2006.gif - Here the principle is very similar to yet another confidence game where you can make almost 300% in 4 years and the currency in action is the Real Estate itself.
You buy an estate (INVEST) knowing that many other are doing the same therefore prices goes higher, than you sell to someone else (WITHDRAW PROFIT) and the growth / cycle continues until it collapses.
The crisis was a shock only to the inexperienced mind, many 'players' knew the real nature of the game while it lasted.
So Ponzi is basically everywhere, and there are even arguments suggesting that today USA economy is a Ponzi driven but that is another story.
HYIPs and e-currencies are just the tip of the iceberg and I see no reason why it should stop at E-golds peak (100M+), theoretically it can reach 1B+ if there would be more professionally active admins.

Re: Is HYIP industry recovering?
I agree with you.
In fact, i believe that this industry can do even better, especially against other (pyramid scheme-related) e-business, like affiliate business, MLM, PTC, etc.
I mean, what is this industry offers is much better than those banners which telling us about 'Mr. X has been paid $xxx.xx per hour by G009le'.

Less new programs are beeing launched now. That means less offer will decrease while demand should increase, what will make programs have more investors.
BTW, some HYIP admins are buying advertisement again (a few days ago we could see how most of important hyip blogs and forums had most banner slots avaiable, what we can't see now for example in talkgold forum).
What you think about? Will setember take us good and stable HYIP programs as used to be in 2008-09? I hope so...

The only sure HYIP I would have any faith in right now personally is Primfix who have just launched there new Betting Platform and allows investors to place an investment on a bet, which if they win, they earn a little extra like 4-6%, however, if they lose their money is refunded into one of the plans which still offers a profit after 30 days.
This is the only HYIP I have personally see get stronger and to offer more to members looking for safe investment.
Regards.

Re: Is HYIP industry recovering?
There are more relatively reliable HYIPs ATM beside Primfix that one should look in order to diversify, just look on premoney.com (started just 2 days ago and looks promising).
I'm not so much into HYIPs as I was back then, but I can see now at least 5 quality programs and when combined it can provide investor with higher probabilities to generate profit.
From objective point of view Primfix is nothing more than yet another medium term platform with up to 160% ROI per month, today such programs are highly demanded.
For example : Powerful-strategy.com also become stronger day by day with more than 150 new signups daily. ATM it has more than 10,500 members (around the same with Primfix) and it's online for only 3 months providing a minimum of 154% monthly (classic mid-term)

Thank you so much for this!
I have not been so involved with HYIP since I got very badly hurt by a poorly run HYIP company. This topic is very helpful as I read in an earlier post that there about 5 paying companies with good rep, but not sure about this premoney.com despite it being new, maybe I go wrong waiting to see what reputation it builds, maybe I shoud jump in fast.
But once again thanks for this post 'tsakaw'.
This is extremely helpful, especially easy to read visually.
Regards,
Gavin

Just a thought:
5 programs are picked here based on one exactly the same criterion - highest traffic value. Wouldn't you think it will not be wise to pick all 5 by someone who is considering investing right now?
