Or when the admins decide to move their sites to DDOS proof hosting.
What is that anyway? Isn't a DDOS simply a massive load on the server due to lots and lots of zombie computer requesting the same pages all at the same time? How can a protection prevent this, the only thing I see is to not take any requests at all to prevent overloading the server. But the end result is the same?
Shed some light on this if you like?

DDOS proof isn't possible, DDOS resilience is. With enough bandwidth/ alternative routes and bad packet traps of one kind or another and admin who are on the ball it can be very resistant.
Sort of depends on if the admin decides its worthwhile to do that. DDOS protection isn't cheap and if his advertising/referrals don't bring in enough he may decide to ride it out.

There are some HYIP hosted in the same server my sites are hosted and I think this is the reason why my sites are down for 5 days now...but the BS host didn't give any explanation...
