Angry Ziinga.com - Scam

Ziinga.com is an auction website, you bid on the price of a product and the last bidder is the winner.

I bought 10 bid package and used them to bid and I won Playstation 3 Slim + Move for a price of around £80.00 which is a good price (I thought I could sell the thing back for £150 easily anywhere even at retailers I think they will offer such a price for that).

But surprisingly they haven't responded to my email, they don't respond to emails and after reading this:

http://www.pennyauctionwatch.com/201...penny-auction/

It looks like it can take up to 5 weeks to receive a product and they even charged some members £56 for 'membership' they never agreed to sign-up for!

This site looks like a scam! I have sent them an email a few days ago and they still haven't responded. I am not even sure I am going to receive the product I won anymore, but I will be in touch with the bank in that case to reverse the £80 payment for the product for non-delivery!

I just want to warn other people who use online auction websites, there are so many good websites with good customer support and no tricks at all, but Ziinga is definitely NOT one of them!

Don't use this site!!

Lol, just as I speak - it seems like they charged the other card I used to pay for the product with extra £56!

I'm going to chargeback this one - What a scam!!

I have just called the bank to reverse the pending charge of £56, also cancelled the card so they won't be able to charge it again with an immediate effect.

I just want to emphasize something here:

1) I bought the bids package with card 1 (not lots of funds in it).
2) I paid for the product I won with card 2 (payment for the product I won).
3) They charged my card 2 yesterday with £56!!!! FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!!!!
I used the second card to pay for the product and for the product only!!! If there was any type of membership (WHICH THERE ISN'T!!) they would have to charge card 1 but this card has no money in it (I took all the cash out once I read what they do) - so they without any authorization whatsoever tried to charge my second card for £56!!!

They are bunch of scammers and cheaters!!!

Zingo.com is SCAM SCAM SCAM website!!!!
Stay away!!!!

Update:

After the very inconvenient charge of £56 which I cancelled yesterday (if I wouldn't find it on time the bank wouldn't get involved!) - I contacted Ziinga through their phone number listed on the WHOIS record and a lady passed my message to them and promised they will respond.

Per my request they closed my account (at last!) and they said the Playstation 3 Slim + Move should be delivered within a week.

Nevertheless I am still very upset with the £56 charge that I could almost pay for no reason.
I found out on their Terms and Conditions they mention there are many type of memberships (Silver / Gold) and only the Gold membership is £56 per month but you aren't given the option to choose anything and there are no notifications made. I am working in the advertising business and I've seen websites offering free trials with small print but what they do is to assign you a membership without your agreement this is absurd! What's more, trying to charge ANY debit/credit card you use in the site doesn't prove it to be legitimate.

I will update this topic once I get the goods delivered, my suggestion to you guys if you want to use this site then just use a gift card on this site, that's the best thing to do in my opinion. Either use a gift card or CashPlus Titanium card etc - this way they will never be able to charge your card and then you can use the site without any 'unauthorized' charges just email them and inform them you do so to be fair, I just wonder if you would get a response if you do.

I will keep this spaced updated when the goods come but I still see the site as a scam with this £56 charge (can be charged even from cards you use to purchase) - They HAVE to change it, this is literally unethical to charge people's card for memberships they haven't signed-up for!!

Take a look now:

http://www.ziinga.com/uk/terms

Membership

As a member you get different benefits. These benefits include 10% more bids with the purchase of bid package, free delivery and free bids every day. There are also ‘Bid for Free’ auctions exclusively for members. With ‘Bid for Free’ auctions you can bid without any bids being spent from your account. You can only bid on one ‘Bid for Free’ auction at a time and you can bid only once every 120 seconds. As winner of Ziinga's free auctions, simply pay the auction price.

A Plus membership is available for a monthly fee of £15. As a Plus member, receive a free bid automatically each day and a free bid for each calendar day you log. With Gold membership, at a cost of £33 a month, you will receive two complimentary bids automatically every day, and an additional three free bids for each calendar day you log in. With Gold+ membership, at a cost of £56 a month, you will receive four complimentary bids automatically every day, and an additional five free bids for each calendar day you log in.

Membership fees will be charged upfront to your credit card.

You can always cancel your membership by emailing into uk@ziinga.com.

Membership fees cannot be refunded.

Member price and benefits for the Plus and Gold membership are subject to change without notice.

Okay, here is what I have to say on this:

Clearly, they haven't used a lawyer to write these terms properly, because when you sign-up there is no where anything mentioned about the membership, you only tick the box you agree to their terms and conditions but as you can see they mention a Plus membership and a Gold and a Gold+ memberships but you have no choice to choose any of these, you just get charged £56 as a Gold+ member even if you don't use the site and just used your credit/debit card!

This is not ok, Ziinga - you HAVE to change these terms and you have to inform members of what you do, otherwise more people would complain just as I do!!

i got an add for a 3 day trial membership at this ziinga website.

the offer gave me a free Ipod shuffle and a few bids..

so i did it and the 2nd day in, i noticed the site made me feel uncomfortable.. Can't explain why very well.. Example like, when I talking to the staff i felt as if they treated me as a fool, the Bid timer was glitch prone ( as i know now they did that on purpose)... so i canceled before my 3 day trial was up..

i received a 40$ cancellation fee and No ipod... someone explain to me what happened here?
