Thats what I was thinking too... If you wanted to make a "job" of it, you could easily run 4-5 goldcoders scripts at a time, each lasting about 3 months. Thats 16-20 a year, say each brings in $30000, thats over half a million dollars for the year!

I suspect a large percentage of ponzis are run by a small number of syndicates. Judging by the consistenly bad english on all of them maybe east European / Asian. Newcomers get DDOSed out of existence to protect their turf.

The problem is; most scammers work without any risk of getting caught. Everyone is anonymous and can run away easily. As far as I know, 99.9% of the scammers never get any problems with justice. A 12 year old kid can create a HYIP and scam hundreds of investors.
Yea but guys like the Invex people can get into trouble because they are a high-profile target. When you talk about millions of dollars in one ponzi it becomes easier to 'follow the money' and find the scammers.
But sure, they will still get away with it most of the time.

I think the key to getting caught is making enough of your investors angry enough to chase you down. The law is rarely pro-active in these things, its only when enough people make a big enough stink that they get involved.
