I've moved your thread over to this folder.
Hostgator has a good reputation.

A very good one is Network Solutions. Its control panel is very easy to use and provides you with all the necessary tools to manage your account (and yes, this includes backup). Beginners can easily get their website online in a few minutes with the automated installation of popular open source applications such as Wordpress, B2Evolution, Drupal, Geeklog, Joomla, Typo3 and osCommerce just to name a few.
It also provides a free Website Builder software which allows you to build a custom, professional website rather quickly and easily. Many video tutorials are available and will guide you in performing any task possible with your hosting account.

Re: Reliable Web Hosting Companies
I would steer clear of "unlimited" gimmicks you see from HostMonster, Host Gator, Go Daddy, etc. If it has "host" in the name, slam on brakes! For example, BlueHost which seems like a reseller of "unlimited" services, will terminate your account if you upload files that exceed their limit (hmmm... "unlimited") because my friend needed to host a backup for a week or two while he was reformatting and setting back up his machine, well they gave him a warning with the threat that his account will be terminated next time.
Honestly, I would go with a virtual private server with a cPanel license which costs a monthly fee because it gives you the stability and ease of use you get with the big companies but on your virtual private server, you have your own dedicated IP and are not sharing that IP with a linkfarm, backlink farm, pharmacy site, etc. Look up how many domains are on the shared IP on your web hosting account. I looked that up for a client- over 4000 domains on ONE IP. Now you wonder why your search engine results stink on your shared host.
