What if offshore account documents would be missing?
Let's suppose that I have LLC or IBC and the company holds bank account in different jurisdiction. And let's suppose that there are nominees involved, in the companies and in the bank account.
I have received online banking authentication codes, perhaps anonymous debit card etc. And I have received LLC/IBC documents from the service provider. But what if for some reason I'll loose everything, for example there is a fire?
So don't have any documents left and the services provider goes bankrupt. Don't remember the nominees' names. Will I just go to the bank with my passport and try to claim the funds? Or are they totally lost?
The issue here is, that are my funds somehow dependent on online banking authentication codes or some company documents? What if I don't want to keep them at all, am I still able to use my account?

If you do not have any documents and you are not on the account, then bank will not give you funds.

Re: What if offshore account documents would be missing?
If you can remember the name of the company, place of registration and registration number better yet all the above you can get the rest of the information from the company register. Some only provide this information if you come in person. Some like panama are available online. Getting money out of bank account can be tricky, but still possible. depends on determination and cost vs gain ...

Re: What if offshore account documents would be missing?
It only matters who has the signatory authority over the bank account. So, if you are not the signer on the banking forms, or you do not control that signature to have the corporation and bank account signed over to you, it will not matter if you have corporation documents if you are not on them or have a POA to operate the corporation.
I have known people who used nominee data to open the corporation and account but used their own signature on the banking forms and controlled the address with the bank so the nominee could not run off with the money. Even if the nominee waked into the bank with their passport the signature would not match ;-) Of course it required the person do a little work on the passport to replace their signature where the nominee's was. And if it is not done properly the account can be refused or later closed by the bank.

If you find out who the nominee is you have a chance to find him and ask him kindly to sign a new power of attorney. Will bank turn turn the man down with a power of attorney!? Some opinions from experts please.

Re: What if offshore account documents would be missing?
First an answer to the OP: Keep multiple apostilled copes of documents in different places
Second:
I too have similiar question about using company and bank account nominee.
Couldn't you create documents at incorporation with power of attorney with blank date which hands over the account from nominee to beneficial owner? Similiar as the directorship is done?
Of course these documents are for the case if nominee disepears, and you don't have anyone to control bank account.
If he diseapears with your money, you can't do nothing anyway
