Where could one actually find and read the information which answers these questions with verifiable proof, and not just more e-information?
How do you confirm the existance of the gold reserves? Many of these 'real' businesses could only exist within the void of cyberspace.
Are there ANY independent third party sources which can confirm what any company says about itself?
Why would e-gold have to be anything more than a glorified accounting program?
Are you on the board of this company? If not, how would you 'know' what the FBI had to say about anything. Are you offering anything more here than pure conjecture? Is this an example of information I can find and read for myself?
Stormpay seems to have some doubts about egold also.
Still skeptical.

You might think its better but then it would not be e-gold. Reversibility of charges is just not going to happen.
It sounds like you should seriously consider sticking with your passbook account and your credit cards.

btw 1anonymousperson

if you want to quote somebody's text in here. you can click on quote button...

or if you want to quote the section. you will use the [ quote ] text you want to quote.... and then close it with [ /quote ]

remove the spaces between opening and closing brackets above. does that make sense?

Quote:
"The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either.
Benjamin Franklin"
is accomplished by typing

[ quote ]"The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either.
Benjamin Franklin"[ /quote ]

except without the spaces in the bracketed "quote" and "/quote"

Quote:
If we give up any freedom, they will prosecute lawful businesses as well. It is happening in the US today. Just check the news on injustice, malicious prosecution.
we can't be just free all the time everywhere to do whatever we want. freedom is that which requires the most restraint and self responsibility.

we are dealing with an entity which is a mechanism for truly heinous acts online. chidl porn/fraud/money laundering/ scams.

why are you so resistant to "beginning" of soem much needed regulation unless you have somethgin to hide?

if you are not doing anything that is illegal, even if US fed gov intervenes with egold, it will affects you very little if not none.

but it will affects you tremendously if you are partaking in child porn/ money laudering/scamming.

we have an elected government. we are the one who chose who govern us.

let us trust our own decisions.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have been reading this board for awhile but just started to post and need to figure out the ropes still.

It is nice to know people are out there that appreciate freedom. The average person has no clue about the power of the government.

Good point about a small group of forex people, but remember under the current laws in my view it could still be considered a violation of the securities laws because they are not registering with the SEC etc and a whole litany of others registrations. I think you have to be registered with the SEC whenever you have an investment program of any kind. Don't quote me, because I not sure and someone else knows much better. Investors should be able to do what they want without fear of the government! Long live forex traders, but in the current environment it is a problem.

I agree with your comment about the reason why we have elected leaders.

Let see who controls the FBI? That would be the President through the Department of Justice I believe.

Try calling your elected officials and see what kind of response you get. Send an email to the President Bush and Vice President Cheney. They need to hear from you.

The problem is that I have tried this on many issues. They are not responsive to the people. You hardly ever get a response when sending an email. They are so busy with legislation and new laws that they have forgot about the people who sent them there and that they are elected as our voice in government when we need help. We need to remind them of these things. Not sure it can be done but we can try. I would think a congressman or someone in a top position calling the FBI and saying, why are you raiding e-gold and what data are you collection. What authority did you have to do this? Why are you searching and seizing through the criminal system and invading the privacy of Mr. Jackson and e-gold. I want a full report immediately on what you are doing on this case. Why did you not just do a civil subpoena? Are you abusing the process of criminal law? Do you know how you harmed the economy by shutting e-gold down for a few days (if that is the cause). Did you know you are possibly violating our constitution? You interfered with my voter’s right to do business and exchange e-gold.

Constitution:

No Preference shall be given by any Regulation of Commerce or Revenue to the Ports of one State over those of another: nor shall Vessels bound to, or from, one State, be obliged to enter, clear, or pay Duties in another.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Amendment IV - Search and seizure. Ratified 12/15/1791.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Amendment I - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Section 10 - Powers prohibited of States

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

What do you think that means. Don't we have a legal contract with e-gold. I would hope so.

The list could go on and on.

there is no such thing as anonimity online

well mostly.

unless you have an agent that wil guarantee you such. and egold is one. and for that. ppl use it purchase child porn. they use it defraud others of thousands if not millions.

we certainly have legal contract with this offshore entity called egold.

but many who are part of egold are not free of probable cause.

how will the government establish that?

shoudl we allow the government to establish probable cause against some ppl who use egld?

man..
child porn...
theft....
money laundering...

cmon.

be reasonable.

i think its a good thing.

but it will lead to paying tax on our online investment. which i dont mind.
my pay check comes from your tax. i'm a grad student. ^^

e-gold should have been featured in Team America movie
they care that a few islamists may be using e-gold, but everybody knows the main funding of these people is OIL MONEY. Saudis, Iranis, Iraqis... all making money from oil.
will we stop buying oil from arabic countries because its financing terrorism? NO.
