they are going crazy after 911 event. Everything that is not in mr.Bush's interests is being "raided", everything that is not convinient for american government. e-gold is really great system. I worked with it for over 2 years and it didn't scam me like f stormpay did.
yeah, uncle Sam is definetely trying to keep everything under its control and if someone doesn't want to obey, they just ruin with the help of f FBI and its raids. What terrorism financing are they talking about? it's damn funny. us. government couldn't come up with better "reason". After 911 they are going crazy about this "terrorist financing". Why would some kind of "Ben Laden" use egold to buy weapon and sh*it? If we're talking about terroism financing then we're talking about millions of dollars. And probably a person who gets money for weapon or smth else will like to cash it out. And which egold exchanger will exchange 2-5 million of dollars? That's f ridiculous. Mr. Bush, IRS, FBI remind me a totalitarian way of ruling in US. The do what they won't and nobody can stop them. They start f war in Iraq in order to steal and take away oil from Iraq people. They have also made up a story about nuclear weapon in Iraq thougn numerous experts prooved that there were no weapon and no threat. In the result thousands of innocent people died just because america want to be strong and powerful. FBI track people internet traffic like nowhere in the world, they track people's private life in order to know everything and be strong tyrants. US prison officers mock at foreign prisoners that were captived and lots of crap is going on.And in the same time they are talking about the most democratic society in the world!!! Yeah, it only LOOKS loke democratic. But many people still believe it is and praise its government.
But anyway, egold is only being raided because someone up there doesn't want to see it running. FBI has been investigating its case for a long time and didn't find a sh*it because its all legal. But they are taking some time in order to male up another "reason" and bust it. Yes, american style, isn't it?
Yeah, and there are some idiots (somebody mentioned about them here) that wrote to FBI that their money were stolen from egold. Believe me, those kind of people are real f***ing idiots. If they are so naive to get on fake emails and give their passwords to scmmers, then what the hell are they doing in e-commerce? they shouldn't use computers at all then, without knowing how to protect yourself from viruses, speware, without knowing how to operate the simplest firewall in order not to be hacked and to loose a password. I wondr what are they thinking about... and then they blame egold, egold shuts down, many people are having their business stopped.
sorry for such a long post. i'm really sick of this crap. Why are there people that can rule you and have control of you, that can put in jail for many years, that can take your money away? why? are they better then others?
dear mr.Bush i hope life will punish you someday and you will be responsible for waht you did, responsible for so many deaths and ruined lifes.
FBI, f**k u!
You're right. I guess my use of the sentence was wrong, E-dinar was launch(ed) already, but still is not in effect yet anywhere.
does that make things any different?
wow, but if you really thing about it, the FBI raids ALOT of people and businesses, and the US has certain dislikings for things that are common, I mean wtf, why can't they raid Paypal?!?!?! Paypal let someone get away with $2029.49 of MY MONEY but did they do anything???.....nope.....raid effin Paypal!!

They should also raid stupid ****ing Stormpay. They took $7200 of my money and $8300 of my girlfriend's money. And many thousands from other members that got hurt in the Rainsurf scam. E-Gold NEVER scams anyone. People with negligence on their part for not protecting their computer blame E-Gold when their accounts get hacked. I bet part of the raid has to do with idiots who complained to the FBI when their E-Gold accounts were hacked and lost money. :*****:
Egold was raided because they do not have the same identification requirements in place that the other payment processors such as StormPay and PayPal have. Anyone can open up an egold account and send and receive a lot of currency without any limitations. You can put a bogus address, phone number, everything. It doesn't matter what you put because it doesn't keep you from sending massive amounts of currency. This is why so many criminals and like-minded people have flocked to Egold. They can do as much illegal business as they want anonymously.
The same cannot be said for StormPay or PayPal. They both have measures in place that limit the amount of transactions you can do until you verify your identity. Even then you still have limits on the amount of currency you can send and receive. This is why egold (and other similar gold-based currencies) are under such scrutiny. They brought it on themselves because of their business practices.

You are saying that e-gold is too easy to sign up for and launder money basically. Well I agree some criminals use e-gold but the vast majority of e-gold businesses are doing legitimate business. Lets take some examples and see what you think it criminal and deserves a long jail sentence.
1. You invest in an HYIP online or are an owner of an HYIP. You may violate certain US securities laws. The HYIP has taken in a million dollars. You could face 5-20 years in federal jail. Do you think investing in an HYIP is a criminal act? Remember by saying e-gold is used for criminals you have to include HYIPS. Now that the FBI might have all your information are you scared. What are you doing to protect yourself. Are you afraid that you are laundering these proceeds and could be charged with money laundering.
2. Is it criminal to be anonymous? Many court cases have said that Americans truly value freedom. They don't want government to mis-interpret things.
3. Should it be criminal to transfer money from one account to another and not do the proper reporting, like sending money overseas.
4. Should gold exchangers be required to submit information to the IRS who inturn probably sends things to the FBI whenever you conduct over 50K in business.
5. If you start a business partnership (forex, real estate, securities) and take in many investors without registering with the SEC, should you be sent to jail even if there is no illegal activity and the business is doing well.
6. If you are a manager should you be responsible in a corporation if your employee does something wrong that you have no control over what they did.
7. What happens if someone makes a false accusation against you. They say you threatened me (which you did not), should you have to spend tons of money trying to defend yourself. What if you an in a transaction and you are buying something (real estate, car, boat, any piece of real or intellectual property) and you get a good deal and the other person claims you defrauded him, stole and lied from him months later by reporting it to the FBI or your local District Attorney. Should you go to jail for that?
8. Can the government listen to your phone calls?
Quote from a website:
In modern America, as the regulatory state has grown, the number of such criminal offenses has grown apace. They are predicated on violations of the regulations of the Health Care Finance Administration, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, the Consumer Products Safety Commission and a host of other Federal “alphabet agencies.”The growth in this form of white-collar criminal offenses is what Professor John Coffee has called the “technicalization” of crime. For this category of white-collar offenses, the criminal law is increasingly being used interchangeably with civil remedies.

I'm not siding with eGold or the government. Actually I'd be more likely to side with eGold b/c I just got out of the Army and I've seen what the government is capable of.
Anyway, my argument was simply the criminal aspect of how egold conducts it's business. It isn't just egold, but most gold-based e-currencies are favored by criminals (online and offline) because of their ability to move large amounts of money anonymously. I think this is what really gets the governments attention more than anything else. The possibilities of what can be done in regards to terrorism.

I am sure if government institutions did their jobs better, we would not tallk about the terrorism so much. I suspect their interest in "gold" currencies, e- and otherwise is due to them chalenging governmental power to control. Not to any particular crime or terrorism.
