well,gotta respect his rules..i dont care about sales but discussion about it is important considering the security issues..i am sure there are those that dont mind buying the script from GC themselves if the script bought from there was actually good enough...discussion about modifying legitly bought gc scripts for more security/etc allowed??

hmm lol someone go link to zydus forum or something juz for discussion of it...holes need 2 be fixed...

The main reason for this rule is because of Gold Coders. There are so many programs running out there with pirated versions of their script. This is not legal, nor it is fair to gold coders. They have one of the nicest HYIP scripts and they can't even make a decent amount of revenue off of it since everyone just buys the pirated versions.

Any modifications to the script (as long as it is not against what gold coders or the owners of other scripts allow) is fine with me. If the modifications involve how to make a pirated copy work properly, then that is not allowed.

As for the warnings. Some members did recieve warnings. Don't worry about them. They will expire in 150 days, and are meaningless unless you break the rule again.

To way long to stay in the forum guys. Piracy is something that should not be tolerated. Let's help the creator, programmer of the original scripts by not buying pirated scripts.

I would be 100% of that opinion if GC were not adding backdoors themselves to thier product.

As they themselves are creating these securty holes then I feel it is up to the community to fix them.. The only way to do this is to decrypt and patch the holes as they are found.

Right now all this is doing is playing into thehands of the people who A) know the backdoors B) exploit those backdoors C) sell scripts that compete with GC.

Normally, piracy of scripts is illegal and wrong. But in the case where the programmer himself places malicious backdoors in the scripts then it is not wrong to decrypt and pirate their software.

Normally I would recommend buying the software even if you are using the decrypted versions but since the backdoors were intentional then he deserves to have his scripts pirated.

Just my 2 cents worth.

i dont know if he deserves to have his scripts pirated but he (and his customers) do deserve to have them fixed..

If the only way to do that is to decode and patch them then so be it..

I think its totally fair to stop all discussion of selling the scripts and that people who post for sales etc can be warned, banned etc.. But discussing how to patch and protect them considering they are wide open as sold is valid discussion.

Warnings arent meaningless.. atleast for me..

It hurts someones reputation..

I think u know that well after the 12dp and Charis issue.. where someone blamed you.. right?

Then u get blamed for TG promoting scams.. didnt u defend that??

You had a reason and so do i..

Also if the rules were framed after the now set rules that were broken then i guess my warning should be removed..

I did send u a PM.. That GC isnt doing anything.. and i did nothing wrong..

As a good admin and a good member i guess u will take the best decision..

I found that sql injection vulnerability exist on most of the php files of the script, not just the index.php or itself. Using security.php itself didn't help much, either.

Wise move, talkgold. I have had enough of people selling pirated script or selling the fix other people made for free distribution.
But make sure that you ban everyone who sell the pirated script either by thread or by sig.

I'm tearing down all fix distribution on my sig, and halt ALL my improvement on the script. Sorry if it cause everyone trouble.

GoldCoders HYIP was the nicest script? You've got to be kidding......
The script was so bugged and flawed, it's not even worth the selling price. The licensed retail version (as for now) still got the SAME backdoor in it, thanks to goldcoders. Fixing it yourself was near impossible because it is Zended.
If they can make it open source like the programming language itself, a lot of problem can be fixed and the script security can be improved. But oh well.....
