Yes, would seem as though 1.1950 has been key over the last couple weeks.
I just trade mostly on somewhat misinformed wild guesses...
Thinking that the strong upmove that I'm looking for isn't here - yet. In some quick looking at my thinking when I get to this point, I'm usually 2-3 weeks ahead, and usually burn myself, so - TRYING to learn from my dumb moves.
I'll be around, I'm at work now, will be home in around 8 hours, usually keep a TG window up...
Unfortunately, it seems, I see a lot of activity in the Asian session, right at the time when I leave work, and during the drive home. Figures, that's the way things work.
US debt so far been 'financed' reasonably well, but - should fortunes change, as they will, and non-us stocks, returns, bonds, etc, become attractive, well... That's the big one I'm hoping to catch. Because when it finally goes, I'm thinking that there may be haywire going on, and some excellent opportunites.
(Hey, I've got to work on my performance evaluation at work. Anybody wanna do it for me? I have a rather strong dislike for filling out those blasted beasts... Yecchh!!)
And, yes, thinking that I'll buy eur/usd on a dip, depending on how far and hard the dip goes.

so much for me going to sleep......lol what you\'ll find is at the beginning and end of each session/s, the market will make a move, do you leave work around 6.30 and 8.30 Gmt?, strong moves can sometimes happen around this zone. Just watching the market at the moment waiting to see if it will break the 1.1900 level again, if it does and moves into the 1890\'s a move down to 1.1876 and lower is possible. The high so far has been 1.1915 -16 , Keep and eye on this session I\'d say. The asian market can deliver some unexpected surprises as I\'m sure you\'ve seen.
Should a trade not move in your favour, write down as much as you can about why you entered the trade, the price of oil, news delieveries, the high of low the current day, and previous, this analysis (not at the time though) can help you see a clearer picture of whether you should have opened the trade at that point or not. For example if a news release was due today at 12.30 pm GMT about the USD interest rates and the words of the statement I would not enter a trade until after the statement was released. Market speculation is not enough when major news breaks are being released, you need actual facts more so than a hunch. Carrying on with my example here if you were unaware of the release, this is more than likely for the reason of your trade moving against you, the worst part is, it would proabably move back in your favour, had you of waited. Patience can be your best tool in this game too. Current quote: 1.1897
I\'ll let you know too when I think a large move is going to happen either direction. By the time all three sessions are over you may find 1.2000 a possiblity but with a news release due on Thursday, that scenario may not happen, Iran holds an active key to the outcome.
Leave work around 6:30 gmt, 45 minutes to an hour home, depending on any 'honey do' lists, lol...
I've been watching off and on, figured I might be able to make a couple bucks, entered a buy eur/usd order at 1.1903, sl 1.1883 (arbitrary), tp at 1.1926, although I'll close the trade around 1910-1912, most likely. Small pieces at this point.
And, yes, from what I've seen, market news can be a 'guide' as to how it will go over a few hours/days, but - the real market movers are the reports that come out OTHER (significantly) than expected. I've seen wide variations on estimates of Fri's JPY ?gdp? - Should prove interesting...
When I started out, I jumped right on the markets RIGHT at report release. There are some big moves right away, usually, some very quick swings at times. But, with quick profits, can also come losses, just as quickly... Haven't played too much with straddling reports, but - maybe something to try, with small trades...

I\'m a few points from being stopped out with all my capital in tacked....if this is the case I will await to see if 1.1875 holds and re-enter for a buy position @ 1.1880.
Ignore that comment on the 'bump', don't think that's what it was. Too elongated for a 'quick bail'... My apologies, I wasn't following up with different timing on charts to verify. My mistake-

No worries, a good point to note, if 1.1875 breaks this will indicate range trading until Bernanke delivers his first statement on Thurs. As we\'re currently holding below 1.1900 this is looking more likely! This is still a good opportunity though as one is able to trade in both directions. Unless something happens today the next few new releases shouldn\'t be enough to move out of the 1.1800 area through to the 1.1980/s, untill his statement is complete, seen as this is his first he\'s gotta get this right! Therefore his statement would have been analyzed to the high heavens before he\'s able to read it openly.
The world's full of altruists, I've noticed. Ask him what he charges for this help, Jeff. Or are you too enthralled by having someone to talk to? Ask him why he can't spell or type.
Tell him we've already got enough scammers in this forum and aren't taking in any more, thank you very much. Then kick his donkey out of here - and his warnings with it.
