"50,000,000" can be a generic term for "a lot of money", but not $50,000,000 specifically.
or
"$50,000,000" can mean "What fool would want to hack an account with only 10 cents in it???"
I tend to think the truth is closer to the latter.
Everyone needs to be using all of the built in security features of e-gold. To turn any of them off or down to the minimum level, is just crazy.
i just recieved a phishing email today. i deleted it. will you give us steps to secure our egold account and make sure they are at the top security level?
you can also use roboform you can download it in roboform.com ,you dont have type once you saved all your passcard in roboform its highly recommended. Install AV like avast. also install spyware cleaner like adware, spybot, secretmaker and etc. you can download them in download.com they are actually found in the top 50 programs which are highly downloaded. Good luck The best part is that they are free
Inside egold, there is a security settings page. You can turn automated access to your account on or off (users should leave this off. merchants are the only ones with a need to use this).
You can make it detect your IP address either within a certain range (if your ISP rotates IP addresses around a lot), or to detect your exact IP address. I have mine set to detect my exact IP address since my ISP rarely changes mine.
You can have it check for differences in your web browser. If you use the same browser all the time, and rarely delete cookies or change settings, you should be ok. If you try to access your account using a different browser, or you clear the caches on your regular browser, or make other changes, then you will have to enter a PIN code to access your account. It turns your browser setting into something like a signature as it is doubtful that anyone will be able to exactly duplicate everything.
Egold has a virtual keyboard on the login page for entering your information. This helps fight against key loggers. Alternatively, you can hide a file someplace on your computer or on a cd or floppy containing your login info and copy and paste it instead of typing it.
I believe there may also be a setting now for turning wireless device access on or off. If you don't have a handheld computer or web enabled phone or anything like that, you should leave this off as well.
