google ads in signature

Hello,

The past days i have seen a few members who are putting google ads in their singature, i want to know if this is not against the tos of google adsense.
On the other hand i think it's a cool way for earn some extra free cash.

It is a very silly idea, and ruins the entire atmosphere of the board. I am quite disappointed really that Brian would stoop to that with all of the other advertising currently on the site.

I am testing it out. There are hundreds of forums that use such ads. If we keep these on in the long run we will remove other ads.

Doing so testing. Remembers any members can simply add a sig and these ads won't appear in their sig area.

So is it means that those who are yet to edit their signature will have a google ads displayed automatically?

And therefore it just encourages people to fill up their sigs with pointless ads for scams. I prefer Gold-horizon's approach of no links in sigs. It works out well and results in more meaningful posts rather than all of the nonsense posts we end up with here due to ref whores spamming their sig.

the problem with the (seemingly)in-sig ads is that people think they're chosen by the poster and then start to nitpick about poster XXX promoting scam YYY. there should be a text or something there to point it out that it's not the posters ad, or the advert should be seperate from the actual post(out of the actual posts box).

anyways, getting tired at people yelling "hypocrite" at people who warn them of scams because it looks like they have clearly scammy adverts in their sig area..
