I want to buy e-gold online. Wouldn't it be like purchasing something with a credit card?? Why do they require photo ID, documents, etc? I wanted to use a credit card thinking that it would be the easiest/quickest way to purchase e-gold.

Would going to a bank or brick and morter Exchange Server (if there is any) easier? I'm in Perth, Australia....Is there a site that I can go to find out where is the closest brick and morter exchange server is?

All of the credit card exchangers that I am aware of will require scans of ID of one sort or another - they do this to protect themselves from chargebacks claiming that whoever placed the order was not the owner of the card.

I know some poeple have bad experince of goldarea...
But I just bought e-gold from them two weeks ago. At that time I was scared.... because I read what people wrote and I sent them my back stament and copy of my driver lincense. However, after three days they called me... asked me couple questions to comfirm.... within 24 hours... money have arrived at my e-gold account. It is really good.... I live in US.... I feel they really did go jobs.... this is my first time worte things in this website.... I really recommon use goldarea.... They said 24~48 hours.... They contected me after 48 hours.... but they indeed send money to my e-gold account. So I believe they are good. I am not from goldarea... I just same as you normal people want to invest through internet.... Trust me they are good....
